On-Road Investigations

On average, there are over 6 million accidents each year in the United
States, with about half resulting in injury.  Of that, about 50,000 deaths
are recorded and the total costs of these collisions surpasses 200
billion dollars every year.
Ten percent of all insurance claims have some
degree of fraud and automobiles are involved in a large portion of those
claims.
This is why accident investigation and reconstruction of motor
vehicle collisions requires extensive knowledge and real world
experience in order to differentiate between fact and fiction.

It is more than just the ability to look at photos and a police report and
create a conclusion, or foster an impression, as to what has happened.
For that conclusion to be correct, you need to be able to prove, or
disprove, why it occurred that particular way.  Being familiar with the rules
of the road, estimating vehicle damage and knowledge of how a car
works are just steps in a much greater process.  It requires continued
education in the principles of accident reconstruction, vehicle dynamics
and cutting edge technologies so that unbiased and truthful depiction
s of
a collision can be derived.

By working closely with industry leaders, local and state law
enforcement, roadway contractors and insurance companies, we are
able to ensure accurate reporting and the ability to stay current on trends,
products and various procedures that may affect collision investigation or
vehicle reactions.  Our relationships have allowed us to work collisions
simultaneously with law enforcement, sit as members of legislative
subcommittees and conduct real world vehicle testing.

Cedarbyrne Consulting Services investigates most collisions occurring
"on the road" including motor vehicle, motorcycle, pedestrian, bicyclists
and toy vehicles such as "pocket bikes" and motorized scooters.  We
handle all types of crashes, from the most horrific fatal collision to the
low speed parking lot bump.
 We specialize in staged accident
fraud, low impact MIST claims,
high speed crashes, and
emergency vehicle collisions.

We offer customized services to
both insurance and legal entities
including
initial case reviews, Hit While Parked (HWP) assessments
and
help in preparing for cases without commissioning a full
reconstruction.  Discounted rates and package plans are also available
to preferred customers.

If you have a case and need assistance in determining speed, vision
obstructions, vehicle defects or just have questions and need plausible
'what ifs', contact Joe Stephenson at (207) 423-3175 or email
info@cedarbyrne.com for a private discussion about your case.
Lt. Duty Plow Truck Testing
Braking efficiency performance
was done with 1/2 ton and 3/4
ton light duty trucks to determine
the effects of adding a standard
plow to the unit.  The addition of
the plow increased the braking
efficiency on vehicles NOT
equipped with Anti-lock Braking
Systems.  Those with ABS saw
little change.
Head-On Crash Test
This recent crash test was
conducted to better determine
the reaction of a two vehicle
collision and the proper
identification of physical
evidence left at the impact point.
